WHAT IT’S ABOUT
Everybody makes mistakes. Some are easy to fix. Others can leave you wishing you could go back and do the whole thing differently.
Can’t I Just Start Over? is about what happens after you mess up: understanding what happened, taking responsibility, making things right when you can, and figuring out how to move forward.
You can’t undo the past. But you can decide what you do next.
A mistake doesn’t have to be the end of the story.
Owning a mistake isn’t the same as deciding you’re a terrible person.
It means being willing to look at what happened, understand your part in it, and do what you reasonably can to fix the harm. Sometimes that means apologizing. Sometimes it means changing what you do next time. Sometimes the other person may still be angry.
Making things right isn’t always easy, and it doesn’t always erase what happened.
But you can learn from it and keep going.
What can you do next?
-
Own It
Start by being honest about what happened and your part in it. Excuses can make a difficult situation even harder to fix.
-
Make It Right
If someone was hurt, think about what you can do now. A real apology, fixing what you damaged, or changing your behavior can matter more than simply saying you’re sorry.
-
Move Forward
You can learn from a mistake without carrying it forever. Think about what you would do differently next time, then give yourself permission to keep going.
You still get to decide what happens next. Closing text
Can’t I Just Start Over? helps you take responsibility for mistakes without getting stuck in them, make things right when you can, and use what happened to make a better choice next time.
