WHAT IT’S ABOUT
When did doing something just because you enjoy it start to feel like something you have to justify?
Can’t I Just Do Something for Me? is for adults who are busy, burned out, or so used to taking care of responsibilities that they’ve lost touch with things they once enjoyed.
It looks at why hobbies matter, what gets in the way of having them, and how making room for something you enjoy can help you feel more like yourself again.
Not everything you do has to be productive.
A hobby doesn’t have to make money. You don’t have to become great at it. You don’t have to post it online, build an audience, turn it into a side hustle, or prove that the time was well spent.
You can paint badly. Grow tomatoes. Sing in a choir. Build something. Collect something. Learn something you'll never use professionally.
Enjoyment is enough of a reason.
Making room for something that belongs to you can relieve stress, build confidence, spark curiosity, and remind you that you’re more than your work and responsibilities.
What gets in the way?
-
No Time
Life gets crowded. A hobby doesn’t need hours of free time or a perfectly organized schedule. It needs some room to exist, even if that room is small.
-
I’m Not Good at It
You’re allowed to enjoy something you haven’t mastered. Being a beginner, making mistakes, and doing something badly can all be part of the fun.
-
I Should Be Doing Something Useful
Rest, curiosity, creativity, and enjoyment are useful too. You don’t have to earn the right to spend some of your time doing something simply because you like it.
You’re allowed to have something that’s yours.
Can’t I Just Do Something for Me? helps you make room for hobbies, curiosity, and creativity without turning one more part of your life into an obligation.
Because sometimes “I like doing this” really is reason enough.
